I really love my job. Even though I have only been there two days it has been wonderful and I am not going to want to leave!!! With any luck at all I won't have to!

Went to Knit Nouveau today and saw Noro for the first time! I know I live under a rock but that stuff is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I am dying to make a Sophie bag and I think I'm gonna pick up a couple of skeins this Thursday at SNB (at Knit Nouveau). I am lusting for the purple/pink! YAY!!!

Things are going pretty good. Am a little sad that I am going to miss JC's first day of pre-K Monday but he wouldn't even be GOING if I wasn't in Birmingham so I guess there's a reason for everything. I miss him but I am still having too much fun exploring. Give me a couple of weeks!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Well, I'm off!

Tomorrow (or today really since it's after midnight) is the big day - moving to Birmingham!! YAY!!! Still not packed but am close. I guess........

Had Trade Days this weekend. Did pretty good with the flip flops and am branching out to scarves. Can make them pretty cheap and it's almost winter. Actually had 2 really cute ones made by this afternoon! All in all, though, it was a crazy weekend. Am ready to get settled in in B-ham and get some knitting done. Wanted to be finished with the lengthening of the Ribby Shell but am not even close. Soon though!!!

Well, I'll post again when I get settled!! Have a good week everyone!

I have seen it - and it is GOOD!

Check out the new patterns from Rowan over at The Knitting Garden. They are FAB!!

This is my favorite from Rowan #36:
ash
It's called Ash and I think it would be perfect over some of my little flimsy sleeveless shirts when it gets cooler AND to wear to work! But the thing I always wonder about these patterns is the fit. When I get it on my normal-sized body will it look as cute as it does in this picture? Or will I wish I had never wasted my time? Such a delimma!!! But I think this definitely has potential! Must order this ASAP! Wonder if they have it in Birmingham.........hmmmmmm...........

Am busy adding on to the bottom of my ribby shell. The ribbing is a little off but I don't think anyone but me would ever notice. I want to wear it this weekend but don't think it will be happening! Too much going on!!!

In other news - it was my last day at work today! I was almost sad to go even though I am off to my dream job! It IS fun working at a yarn store! But the guilt will kill you! I always hated bringing in ANYTHING I had bought from somewhere else and, let's be honest, I am more of a Cotton-Ease girl than a Cashmerino one! And Yarn Heaven is definitely a Cashmerino store! Not that that's bad!!! Just makes for some guilt!

Anyway - am off on Monday to B-ham. Plan on getting there on Tuesday. Might be then before I post again but will have pics when I do. Promise!!!!

Have a great weekend and behave!!! LOL

She works hard for the money.....

Or in this case - for no money! LOL!!! Anyway, have been hard at work trying to get stuff done so I can leave for Birmingham on Monday. But I still have a million things to do! As far as knitting goes, I have a few FO's to show you:

This is Bonne Marie's new Ribby Shell:
ribby_shell
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It's a great shell! I used a cotton/acrylic blend so I can wash the crap outta mine. But I think I am going to sit down tonight and rip out the bottom and make it longer. It seemed long when I was knitting it, but once I put it on and it stretched around me it seemed shorter, and after wearing it two times I am definitely wanting it longer. But that's not a pattern issue - just a me issue. I LOVE Bonne Marie's stuff! I want to make the new cabled shell next but I can't wear it to work so it will have to wait.

My next little project is this:
cell_purse A cell-phone purse! YAY!! I got a new phone the other day and wanted to have something to put it in (and am trying to think of things to sell in my mom's booth at Trade Days. So I came up with this. I have one of those little magnetic purse snaps on it but just now glued a cute button to hide the ugly outer part of the snap. I like it! I really do! And it holds my digital camera PERFECTLY too! YAY! But let me tell you - Lion Brand Landscapes does NOT felt - I don't care WHAT the package says! 'Cause that's what I used here and yes, I washed the crap outta it - and do you think it's felted? Um....no. But false claim or not I like the yarn and I like the finished product.

So anyway, am off to pack some more!!!

I finally finished something!!!

Anyone remember Toby's felted doggie blanket? Well, it's felting as I write, splashing happily in my washer with an old pair of blue jeans. Hopefully Toby will like it!!! I'll post a pic of them together as soon as it's dry. I'm trying to tie up loose ends in the hopes that I will have a lot of things done if I get chosen for Birmingham. But I just might die of heart failure before they decide to tell me!!! LOL

But one problem: they don't really like sleeveless shirts there - which means 3/4 of my wardrobe is out of the question. So what do I do? And the two sweaters I am working on are both sleeveless!!!! Crap!!! I'm torn between doing up a cardi or two - or making a short-sleeve top (or two). I really like the lace one from Vintage Knits - but the gauge is 28 sts/inch and will take me forever. I have another pattern that is for a worsted weight but would that be too hot?? In Alabama?? It IS an air-conditioned office but I am still worried!!! Although I could buy some Cotton-Ease for it. Hmmmm...... looks like that might be one solution!

Why won't they call me??? This is worse (far, far worse really) than waiting for a man to call!!! This is torture!!!!!!

AARRGGH!!!!!
